1) How do the enneagram and our personality types influence our daily lives and those around us?
2) My artwork depicts the unique yet encompassing nine types of the enneagram. In each type, a series of pictures will depict an individual who is portraying his/her type influencing their personal life and interactions with others.
3) In the making of each piece, I began with a simple beginning idea of what I wanted the picture to show about a certain type. For example, type one: the reformer. The reformer is known to be self-controlled and a perfectionist. One who is always judging and forcing themselves to meet a certain standard of perfection in life always has a way of looking at oneself and searching for areas of improvement and consequently reprimand themselves when failing to do so. Knowing this I saw that we usually hear of people giving themselves a speech in the mirror and seeing one's reflection as someone who’s going to do the best they can possibly be. So I began and soon I found a way so that it was not just a picture of a face reflecting off the mirror but rather a face with a personal connection to the one the other side who was trying to tell their own reflection something so pressing only a gaze could portray, This has the picture a powerful feeling of curiosity and an ominous feel for the thoughts running through the one on the other side of the mirror.
Very nice job. My only suggestion is you interview people rather than say what the number is. That way it is less textbook like and more of a story. Really nice job today Monica
